  1. You need to sit on the edge of a chair and move your legs as if you were walking in place, as shown in the video. In this case, the socks must be constantly pulled up. Place your hands on your hips and move towards your knees with massage movements. It is necessary to make body movements identical to those produced during normal walking. You need to perform the exercise for arthrosis of the knee joint for 10-15 minutes, then change the position of the foot and then move it with the heel off the floor. A similar exercise must be performed every time before you plan to get out of bed and take a long walk. Gymnastics is aimed at improving blood circulation and reducing pain that occurs in the joints. The stroking movements with your hands, described above and shown in the video, warm up the joints, which eliminates the possibility of pain in principle. The body must move; not only the hip joint, but also the spine is involved in the movement. It is best to watch the video before starting gymnastics. If the patient feels tension, it is necessary to stop, relaxing the shoulders and lower back.
  2. While sitting on a chair, you need to spread your legs as wide as possible. Jamaldinov Muslim recommends turning your foot, bringing your knees and toes together and spreading them apart as the person in the video does. Bringing your legs together should be accompanied by bending your back, while spreading your legs should be accompanied by straightening. The exercise is done for 5-10 minutes. The whole body is involved in the exercise, which helps relieve tension. As soon as it is completed, you should repeat exercise No. 1. Particular attention should be paid to proper breathing, inhale through the mouth, exhale through the nose as seen in the video. Do not forget about massage movements with your hands, they are designed to warm up the muscles and relieve pain.

Exercise therapy for arthrosis is of paramount importance

  1. If you are planning a long trek, then you must not be lazy and repeat the exercises described above several times, after which, without getting up from your chair, put your feet in front of you and start swinging them, as if it were a pendulum. In this case, you need to periodically bend and straighten your knees, pulling your thumb towards you. Having completed the exercise, you need to move on to warming up your socks, for which you alternately pull them towards the body and return the leg to its original position, the essence of the exercise is reflected in the video. Movements should be amplitude, ankles should be as relaxed as possible. Note! Gymnastics are intended solely to relieve the symptoms of arthrosis of the knee joint. Exercises cannot completely cure arthrosis, so they must be combined with taking medications and other procedures recommended by the attending physician.

Muslim Jamaldinov does not recommend performing the complex he developed for patients who have acute pain in the knees. An exacerbation of arthrosis is far from the best time to start exercising. Patients who have recently suffered a knee injury should also be especially careful when performing such exercises. For them, there is a special set of activities, also performed while sitting on a chair, but of a more gentle nature. You should begin and end the exercises with a foot massage with your hands.

Rules for conducting training

Physical activity requires a competent approach and knowledge of the required dosage. Therefore, usually all sports activities should be led by a coach who knows the capabilities of each person in his group. This is especially important if it is necessary to use physical therapy. Many movements with gonarthrosis are contraindicated, as they can do more harm than good. Especially when an elderly person with sore knee joints comes to class.

  1. Slowness. Sharp jerking movements create increased stress on the joint. Pain and swelling can be relieved only with the leisurely and measured use of the entire gymnastic complex. This will take about an hour, or even more, depending on the condition of the knees.
  2. No overvoltage. When the exercises become difficult and the muscles get tired, it is better to rest and continue later. Physical therapy restores normal muscle function. This is not a competition and the Olympic slogan “Faster, higher, stronger” has no place here. Therefore, it is worth periodically giving rest to the muscles of the legs and back.
  3. No pain. Initially, the entire Dzhamaldinov complex was developed on the basis that a person cannot even really get out of bed due to arthrosis in the knees. Therefore, the first exercise, which includes warming up the ankle and massaging the thigh, is aimed specifically at relieving pain. All subsequent actions should also be performed until the person begins to feel discomfort.

Violation of these simple rules can lead to severe pain, and Dzhamaldinov’s entire set of exercises against arthrosis of the knee joints simply will not work. In order not to make mistakes during treatment, it is better to first consult with a doctor, attend several exercise therapy classes to listen to all the recommendations of the specialist leading the training.

Also, do not forget that it is pointless to treat joint diseases only with gymnastics. Medicines and diet are equally important for cartilage rehabilitation.

Exacerbation of arthrosis

Special exercises have been developed for this group by Muslim Jamaldinov. Osteoarthritis of the knee joints can worsen over time. This period is characterized by attacks of severe pain when moving the joint.

Exercises:

  1. Warming up the knee while sitting on a low chair (imitation of walking without completely lifting the foot off the ground, self-massage of the hip and knee).
  2. Bends in a sitting position with soft sliding of hands along bent or straight legs.
  3. Gentle stretching of the lower back (sitting, tilt your body forward and pull your toes towards you, move your body back and press your toes to a flat surface).

Please note that increased stress during this period will worsen your situation. With this gymnastics this is excluded, since all exercises are done while sitting. If pain occurs during exercise therapy, seek advice - it means you are doing the exercises incorrectly. With daily training and maintenance therapy, the effect will be noticeable within a week.

As mentioned above, Muslim Jamaldinov developed his own set of exercises to combat arthrosis of the knee joint, based on the work of Dr. Popov, a traumatologist and specialist in manual therapy. The method of Popov and Dzhamaldinov is better known both among specialists and among patients as the “Health Hall”.

A feature of Popov’s technique is the desire to treat sore knees with less painful and traumatic effect on them. Movements of the torso and legs are performed as softly as possible. The person performing them should not feel pain. If this is observed, you need to direct more effort to massage the knees with different ranges of motion. It is forbidden to overcome or endure pain; heavy exercises must be replaced with lighter ones, starting the training with what works best and easiest. If you cannot do a more difficult exercise in the first few days after starting training, it is better to postpone its implementation for a week or even a month until the body gets used to it and the training becomes easier, the whole set of exercises will not suffer from this.
