Coxarthrosis is a disease caused by degenerative-dystrophic changes in the articular surfaces. At a late stage of pathology, cartilage tissue almost completely disappears, is replaced by bone tissue, and osteophytes appear. Overgrowth of the joint space leads to joint immobility. In such cases, official medicine offers complex conservative treatment or joint replacement. Gitta exercises are an essential part of therapy. Performing exercises using a special technique gives positive dynamics in restoring motor functions.
Benefits of Dr. Gitt's exercise routine
Gitt Vitaly Demyanovich - chiropractor, author of the micromovement technique
Chiropractor Vitaly Gitt has developed a technique that helps improve the condition of joints with pathological changes. The proposed exercises are easy to perform and do not require the purchase of special equipment. The load on the hip joint is minimal, it will not lead to complications of the condition. Advantages of the technique:
- Joint restoration occurs without surgery.
- A small range of motion does not cause pain in the joint.
- Gymnastics is available for patients with grade 3 coxarthrosis, characterized by limited mobility.
- You can study at home, at work, anywhere when you have free time.
- There is a set of exercises for patients who are unable to get up. They perform the movements while lying in bed.
Treatment of arthrosis is a complex and long process; Dr. Gitt’s developments help stimulate the natural processes of cartilage tissue regeneration. The technique is effective in the treatment of various joint diseases - tendonitis, synovitis.
The essence of the technique
The Gitta technique improves blood circulation and strengthens muscles, which has a beneficial effect on the condition of sore hip joints.
Vitaly Demyanovich's Gitt method consists of performing exercises as many times as possible, which boil down to abducting the legs with minimal amplitude. Physical activity can be distributed to all muscle groups of the lower extremities, but it should not cause discomfort or pain. Ideally, Gitt gymnastics should be performed throughout the day: at work, at home, while walking, and so on. Small movements allow you to develop the damaged hip joint, improve blood supply and metabolism in the area affected by coxarthrosis.
Basics of the technique
The Gitta diet involves a reduced protein content in the diet.
Gitta's therapeutic exercises for coxarthrosis are based on the doctor's belief in the constant growth and change of joint and bone tissues. With methodical influence on them, a change occurs in the desired direction. The proposed exercises do not load the joint, activating the production of synovial fluid. The tissues receive sufficient nutrition, and the cartilage restoration mechanism is launched. Treatment is based on a complex of three components:
- Micromovements are measured, regular movements with a small amplitude of 1-2 cm.
- Percussion massage - to restore the normal state of the joint capsule, tendons and adjacent tissues, manual pressure is required. Gently tapping your fingers speeds up blood circulation and improves muscle tone.
- A diet with a reduced protein content - according to the observations of a chiropractor, protein provokes autoimmune reactions in the body. Reducing its amount in the diet helps relieve inflammation and stop rheumatic processes.
Vitaly Gitt speaks rather skeptically about the treatment of coxarthrosis with medications. Medicines can slow down pathological processes, but we are not talking about restoring the structure. The chiropractor believes that his technique can not only stop the destruction of joints, but also reverse the processes and achieve regeneration.
“Humpty Dumpty” in action (treatment of coxarthrosis)
"FiS", 2005, No. 12
“Hello, dear editors! The recommendations regarding the treatment of joints given by the healer Vitaly Demyanovich Gitt prompted me to contact your magazine. Four years ago, one fine morning, I was unable to get out of bed due to severe pain in my hip. The doctor said that we would relieve the acute pain, but there was no treatment for the joints. This is an age-related disease, and I am 68 years old, and there is no escape from age. They prescribed treatment - IVs, injections, electrotherapy, massage, a magnet on the leg. I was in the hospital for a month. Currently the condition is such that walking and sitting hurt. Somehow I hobble to the table and back. And here is your magazine. Vitaly Demyanovich's article provided me with great moral support. I really hope that his technique will alleviate my condition as much as possible. For a month now I have been doing exercises No. 1, 2, 4 for the hip joints for 3 hours every day. Exercise No. 3 should be done while it hurts, and I don’t do it. I would be grateful if in the next issue of the magazine Vitaly Demyanovich gives an equally intelligent, accessible and understandable explanation of my serious ailments and answers whether it is possible to at least alleviate the condition a little (besides, my left leg is 1.5 cm shorter). With deep respect and best wishes,” Elena Petrovna ADAMOVICH, Ivanovo, Brest region.
We gave Elena Petrovna’s letter, along with the attached copies of an extract from the medical history and a photograph of the diseased hip joint, to Vitaly Demyanovich, but since the problems of the author of the letter are quite typical and the answer may be of interest to our other readers, we publish it on the pages of the magazine.
Humpty Dumpty in action
Coxarthrosis is a severe disease of the hip joints, as I already wrote on the pages of FiS, and indeed it cannot be treated with traditional medicine. The only alternative method that she offers to patients is surgery. However, the method I developed of using special physical exercises of the “humpty-dumpty” type (load without load) has already helped many of my patients get rid of this disease. I think that Elena Petrovna, if she shows sufficient persistence and patience, will be able to improve her condition. The main thing is not to forget that in addition to physical exercise, it is necessary to regularly carry out external work on the joint and adhere to the recommended diet. Naturally, an exercise that causes pain should not be done; time will pass, the joint will begin to recover little by little, and this exercise can be performed together with others. The case of Elena Petrovna is not at all hopeless. In my practice there were situations much more serious. Several years ago, Olga Savvichna Danilushkina turned to me for help (I tell this story with her permission). She was then 65 years old, and she suffered from a severe form of coxarthrosis of the left hip joint. The x-ray that she showed me showed that the cartilage layer in the joint was completely absent, the acetabular head was destroyed (erased due to the lack of cartilage), as a result, the left leg was shortened by 2.5 centimeters and the patient could not move it due to severe pain maybe (in picture 1 you can clearly see that the bones are in contact with each other). She is forced to take large doses of analgesics, and can only move on crutches. In general, degree 4 coxarthrosis. I remember well that I recommended to Olga Savvichna not to waste time and have an operation, the disease was too advanced. But contrary to my advice, she insisted on treatment using my method. I did the exercises regularly and for a long time, and scrupulously followed all my instructions.
I felt the first positive changes in the joint after a year of hard training. And indeed, I was finally able to detect slight mobility in her joint, and the control image showed a thin strip of restored cartilage. The pain decreased and the condition continued to improve. After five years of hard training using the “Humpty Dumpty” method, a control image showed that the thickness of the cartilage layer had increased by 1 centimeter (this is clearly visible in image 2). The length of the leg became the same as healthy, the pain completely disappeared. Olga Savvichna has been walking without crutches for a long time, only sometimes in winter, for safety reasons, she uses a cane. Mobility in the affected joint is almost normal. He can sit on a low bench, take care of his toenails - actions that are impossible with severe coxarthrosis. I did not lose sight of this patient of mine. I know that she continues to do her usual exercises, adheres to the prescribed diet and does not complain about coxarthrosis. And here is the feedback I received about this case from Doctor of Medical Sciences, surgeon Yu.M. Levinson: “With the method of treating joints developed by V.D. I have known Git for a long time, about 20 years. I personally examined Danilushkina and got acquainted with her x-rays. And although it is believed that regenerative processes in large joints are impossible, this case convincingly proves that the generally accepted theory is incorrect. Coxarthrosis, even very severe, can be successfully treated using V.D.’s technique. Gitta." I quote these words in order to once again convince everyone who suffers from joint diseases to cure themselves using a technique that is described in detail in the journal “Physical Education and Sports” (No. 3–9, 2005).
V.D. Gitt
From the editor. Dear readers! Next year, Vitaly Demyanovich Gitt will continue his consultations on the pages of our magazine. Write and ask questions related not only to mastering the humpty-dumpty system, but also to other problems that you have with your joints or spine. All our readers will definitely receive competent advice from an experienced specialist. In addition, in the nearest issues of FiS V.D. Gitt will talk about how to independently cope with various types of spinal curvature and correct some physique defects, for example, making crooked legs slender, a “chicken” chest - wide, a short neck - a “swan”.
What are micro movements
The basis of the Gitta method is the use of micro movements. The patient moves the limb with minimal amplitude. In addition to gentle loading on the diseased joint, the author presented the theory of healing cartilage through moderate but constant nutrition with synovial fluid. When moving a limb by 1-2 cm, a limited amount of lubricant is produced. The amount of liquid is sufficient for absorption. Long-term performance of the same type of exercise ensures a constant supply of essential nutrients.
An increase in amplitude can aggravate the process of destruction of articular surfaces. To supplement the impact of micromovements, the use of a vibrating couch is recommended. Massage helps relax muscles, improve the supply of oxygen and nutrients.
Contraindications to classes
Any physical activity may have contraindications:
- You should not start a course of exercises during an exacerbation of chronic diseases. There is a possibility of triggering an attack due to arterial hypertension.
- Heart disease is a diagnosis that limits physical activity.
- A history of stroke or heart attack requires delaying the start of classes for several months.
You should not choose a set of exercises on your own. Before starting treatment, it is advisable to consult with the author of the technique. At the appointment, he prescribes individual courses based on the patient’s condition. It is important to consult with your doctor. He will recommend types of movements that will not have a negative effect on the condition of the hip joint.
Gymnastics according to Vitaly Gitt for hip joint deformation
The essence of the technique
The patient is recommended to start training when the first negative symptoms appear. Therapeutic exercise is also effective in the later stages of arthrosis, but you should not expect quick results.
After the first procedure, the feeling of stiffness will decrease.
World-famous chiropractor Vitaly Gitt has created a gentle set of training for patients with pathologies of the musculoskeletal system. In severe stages of arthrosis, it is extremely important to choose the right intensity of exercise. Lack of physical activity or, conversely, excessive stress can aggravate the course of the disease. Therefore, homeopathic gymnastics of Gitta micromovements is the optimal solution. The technique for coxarthrosis of the hip joint includes the following types of therapy:
- Micro movements. Gentle physical therapy that must be performed regularly, strictly adhering to the technique.
- Manual therapy. The massage is aimed at stimulating the respiratory tract.
- Diet. A diet with a minimum amount of protein is indicated.
Indications for Gitta gymnastics for coxarthrosis
The set of exercises is designed for the following deformities and pathologies of the musculoskeletal system:
- arthritis and arthrosis;
- curvature of the spine;
- mechanical damage to bone and cartilage tissue;
- inflammatory processes in the muscle frame;
- posture disorders.
Contraindications to training
Exercises are contraindicated during exacerbation of inflammatory processes.
Gymnastics is allowed for all people, regardless of age and stage of the disease, including those with coxarthrosis of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees. However, elderly patients, as well as pregnant women, should not overload the body. Training is not indicated during periods of fever and exacerbation of concomitant chronic diseases. To make sure there are no contraindications, you should consult your doctor.
Rules for performing exercises
The range of movements should increase gradually.
To achieve the maximum positive effect and not aggravate the patient’s condition, you must adhere to the following rules:
- The duration of classes and the size of the load are determined depending on the degree of damage to the hip joint.
- Before starting classes, it is advisable to warm up the muscles with a light massage or take a bath.
- The exercises are performed in several passes.
- There should be no feeling of discomfort during gymnastics. If the patient feels pain, it is necessary to reduce the range of motion.
Positive dynamics are not immediately noticeable; persistence and perseverance will be required to start the mechanism for restoring damaged cartilage.
Exercises for the hip joints
The chiropractor has developed sets of exercises for various areas of the body. Patients with varying degrees of coxarthrosis are offered a dosed load:
- The exercise is performed while lying on your stomach. The body is relaxed, arms are straightened or lie under the head. The feet are placed on an elevation. Rolls are performed with swaying of the pelvis. The duration of the lesson is 10 minutes, in severe cases, reduce to 3-5 minutes.
- Take a sitting position, feet on the floor, knees shoulder-width apart. With an amplitude of 1 cm, the knees smoothly move in and out.
- Lying on your back, slightly spread your legs and turn them out and in.
- Stand with your healthy limb on a support, and the patient perform pendulum swings. The exercise is recommended for the initial degree of coxarthrosis. A modified version is recommended for bedridden patients. It is necessary to make a loop of material and place it at a height of 25 cm above the bed. The affected leg is placed in a support loop and rocked.
Exercises should be pain-free; if discomfort occurs, stop gymnastics immediately. Videos of Gitta exercises for the hip joints will help you master the execution. In them, the author not only demonstrates the technique, but also talks about the changes occurring in the joint.

Arthrosis
Arthrosis is a chronic degenerative-dystrophic disease of the joints. As a result of arthrosis, the synovial fluid becomes thick and viscous, the gap between the cartilages shrinks, and cracks form in them. Changes occur in cartilage, bone tissue and surrounding ligaments. The rough surfaces of the cartilage are split into fibers. The surface loses density, while deep cracks become ossified. The articular membrane thickens and villi form on it. The adjacent bones become overgrown with bony projections to take the load of thinning cartilage. The ligaments and muscles around are damaged, ruptured and sprained.
The main reason is a violation of metabolic processes. Although the origin of primary arthrosis is not fully determined. Secondary arthrosis is a consequence of other diseases: dysplasia, metabolic problems, autoimmune diseases, specific inflammations (encephalitis, tuberculosis, syphilis), a number of endocrine diseases. But injuries, excessive stress and other factors also play a role.
Arthrosis is manifested by joint pain, morning stiffness and limited joint mobility. Pain when the weather changes, increased loads, and sudden loss of mobility are also symptoms of arthrosis. The most characteristic symptom is starting pain when starting to move after rest.
Arthrosis is the most widespread joint disease. At a young age, it is less common, and more common among men. And after 45 years, the likelihood of arthrosis increases, and the ratio changes in favor of women.
At increased risk are older people, people who are overweight or have increased joint loads, people with a hereditary predisposition, postmenopausal women, people after surgery, people who limit their diet, including healthy elements, who have been exposed to toxic contamination, hypothermia and etc.
The main efforts to treat arthrosis in modern medicine come down to preventing further development of the disease. Heavy workload and prolonged immobility are excluded, diet and physical therapy are prescribed. During periods of exacerbation, semi-bed rest and the use of anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed. In case of destruction, prosthetics are performed. However, Vitaly Demyanovich Gitt developed a series of exercises for arthrosis of various joints, based on the method of micromovements. The course of treatment is complemented by percussion massage (tapping the joint through a pressed hand). These techniques make it possible, with minimal load on the joint and with due constancy and perseverance, not only to stop the development of arthrosis, but also to reverse it.
A significant breakthrough is the use of a vibrating couch. It provides micro-movements of muscles and ligaments while completely relaxing them. This activates blood flow and the supply of joint fluid and cartilage tissue with useful elements. Subsequently, active blood flow together with vibration eliminates bone growths and calcified areas of tissue. Variable vibrations of different strengths create safe shocks that stimulate the healing effect much faster than independent exercises and massage. Moreover, the vibrating couch successfully affects those places that cannot be reached in any other way.
Coxarthrosis
Deforming arthrosis of the hip joint of a degenerative-dystrophic nature. When coxarthrosis occurs, which more often occurs in middle and old age, the joint fluid thickens, the surfaces of the hyaline cartilage both in the acetabulum and on the head of the femur dry out and become covered with cracks. When moving, they rub against each other and are destroyed. Gradually, the bones deform to accommodate the increasing load. Bone tissue grows and the head of the femur moves upward. Metabolism deteriorates, muscle and ligament atrophy begins. Over time, the range of movement is limited, displacement of the pelvis and shortening of the limb are observed. The person is forced to lean towards this limb, which leads to additional stress on the joint.
The cause of primary coxarthrosis is not completely clear, although a very likely cause is limitation of movement and unsystematic sudden loads. The causes of secondary coxarthrosis are: - hip dysplasia - congenital hip dislocation - necrosis of the femoral head - Perthes disease - inflammatory processes of infectious and other origin (arthritis, etc.) - trauma. Primary coxarthrosis is often accompanied by damage to the spine and knee joint (gonarthrosis).
An increased risk of coxarthrosis occurs in the following cases: increased load in athletes and people with high weight; problems with blood circulation, hormonal disorders; pathologies of the spine (scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis) or feet; sedentary lifestyle.
Recovery for coxarthrosis is based on the same principles: activation of blood circulation, restoration of elasticity of adjacent tendons, joint capsule and ensuring joint regeneration. This is achieved by reducing the load on the joint and simultaneous use of micromovements and microshakes of the joint (percussion). V.D. Gitt has been successfully using micromovement gymnastics (Humpty Dumpty) and percussion massage on patients for many years.
The vibrating couch allows you to speed up the entire process of starting joint regeneration many times over, supporting the overall health of the body. Under the influence of vibrations, muscles and ligaments relax. Then active blood supply begins. Gradually, beneficial substances reach the joint fluid, despite the fact that there are no vertical loads from the person’s weight. Muscles in a relaxed state also do not injure the joint. Gradually, the blood flow erodes the bone growths, and the cartilage tissue is partially restored.
Question answer
Question: What is arthrosis?
Vitaly Demyanovich: Arthrosis is a general disease of the joint, in which two main processes occur simultaneously: in the first, the cartilage is destroyed, and in the second, the cartilage grows. For some reason, most doctors only pay attention to the fact that cartilage is destroyed during arthrosis. However, any x-ray of a normal, healthy large joint (hip or knee) shows that there is an empty space at the cartilage line - the so-called joint space. In fact, this is not a gap, but a gap filled with cartilage. However, with arthrosis, this gap becomes smaller and smaller until it disappears completely, then bone begins to rub against bone and quickly wears out.
Question: How is arthrosis different from arthritis?
Vitaly Demyanovich: Arthritis is an inflammatory process that can be relieved by various methods. Moreover, he himself can pass. But I don’t know any cases of spontaneous healing of arthrosis.
Question: Is it possible to work out joints with arthrosis?
Vitaly Demyanovich: When the joint is motionless, the nutrition goes mainly to the periphery, which grows intensively. If at the same time a person tries to develop the joint, that is, actively flexes and extends it, then the periphery is injured and inflamed, and then calcified. When it calcifies, it grows even faster. Consequently, movement is further restricted. Therefore, when a person tries to develop joints, the process of their destruction accelerates significantly. When you make micromovements, that is, you constantly move the joint a little, then nutrients continuously flow into it. At the periphery, there is always food, but it comes inside only with micromovements, without injuring the system as a whole. In addition, in this case, the cartilage on the periphery receives less nutrition. And in order not to injure the periphery and central part of the joint, you cannot, for example, squat or spin a “bicycle.” It is micromovements that heal joints!
Thirty or forty years ago I already knew that arthrosis cannot be cured at all. But then I started wondering why they still weren’t being treated. Cytologists who study cells know that human cartilage grows throughout life. However, when a joint is destroyed, cartilage is not restored, because in adults it does not contain blood vessels, it does not even have capillaries. And nutrition of the articular cartilage is provided only through the spongy part of the bone, which is normally washed by the articular fluid.
In a joint, one bone seems to cover the other, so nutrients are brought into the joint only when it moves. But when a healthy person runs, walks and moves actively, the joints, although they wear out, at the same time receive more nutrient fluid, i.e. cartilage grows more intensively. Normally, these two processes are balanced: as much as the cartilage wears out, it grows.
Question: What happens when a joint is immobilized, for example after an injury?
Vitaly Demyanovich: When the joint is immobilized, the supply of nutrients to the central rubbing areas is difficult and nutrition does not occur there even due to diffusion. As a result, the cartilage degrades.
When a doctor, to restore a joint, forces a patient to spin a “bicycle,” jog, and do other exercises to restore a joint, then in the center of this joint the cartilage continues to deteriorate, and at the edges, where there are a lot of nutrients that are released by the joint capsule with articular fluid, access to nutrition is unlimited, and this is where the cartilage actively grows, blocking the range of motion.
Question: Why do you say that there is no cure for arthrosis? After all, it is possible, for example, to stop the inflammatory process or stretch the edges that constrain the joint?
Vitaly Demyanovich: If a doctor advises you on a cure for arthrosis, it means that he is either not in the know, or is simply making money by distributing this “medicine”. This medicine is supposed to build up cartilage in the middle of the joint and destroy the growths at the edges. But is it possible to come up with pills that, when taken, will make the right ear grow and the left ear shrink? A reasonable person will not believe in such pills, because, logically, either both ears will only grow, or they will shrink at the same time, because the nutrition supplied to both is the same. It’s the same with joints: cartilage either grows everywhere and the joint closes, or cartilage is destroyed everywhere. Both are bad! Of course, there are some substances that actually promote the growth of cartilage and completely others that destroy it. But to obtain a substance that would grow cartilage in one place and destroy it nearby - I personally cannot yet imagine such a medicine.
Question: What arthrosis is incompatible with swimming?
Vitaly Demyanovich: Usually the benefits of swimming are greatly exaggerated. For example, if you have low-grade coxarthrosis or monoarthrosis, i.e., joint mobility is still high, then you can little by little swim, and not at speed, but very slowly. However, you should not swim breaststroke, since in this case the hip joint experiences a greater load. If coxarthrosis or monoarthrosis is of a greater degree, then you should not swim at all, because it will only get worse.
Question: How can you detect the onset of arthrosis? I'm only 31 years old, but I get a crunch in my hip and tingling in my knees.
Vitaly Demyanovich: Maybe you have already developed this disease, although crunching is not a symptom. And tingling is not a symptom either. Check carefully the mobility of your joints. Its reduction is indicated by pain in the extreme positions of the joint. You can check this like this: bend your leg and pull your heel towards your buttocks, thus checking whether it stretches worse than before? Then check abduction and adduction of the leg for the hip joint. Well, in the end, do some research - x-ray, MRI, etc.
Question: I have grade 1 arthrosis, can it be cured somehow?
Vitaly Demyanovich: Yes, of course, stage 1 is easy to treat. Do exercises using the micromovement method. In grade 1, micromovements and proper nutrition are important.
Question: I have stage 3 osteoarthritis deformans. Can you heal with exercise?
Vitaly Demyanovich: Yes, you can, but even with this degree of arthrosis you can walk all your life. It’s unlikely that you’ll run a marathon, but you can go for walks and pick mushrooms as much as you like. At the same time, micromovements, of course, are the best way to support and improve your condition.
Question: My arthrosis affects more and more joints. It all started at the age of 19 with shoulder joints. What to do?
Vitaly Demyanovich: When many joints are affected, it is called polyarthrosis. As a rule, in this case, small joints of the fingers and toes, elbows, etc. are also affected. The cause of such conditions is often a metabolic disorder when the body cannot cope with the excess proteins and calcium contained in human food, for example, in cottage cheese , milk, yogurt and other products. In this case, I recommend changing your diet, reducing the amount of protein by 2-3 times. In practice, you need to remove meat, fish and eggs. Meat also includes sausage, frankfurters and chicken. Or you need to take 2-3 times less of these products, i.e. immediately divide by three. You almost completely need to give up foods rich in calcium - cheeses, cottage cheese, milk, kefir and yoghurts. If you have this disease, you should not eat tomatoes in any form, i.e. fresh tomatoes, ketchup and tomato paste.
You need to drink a lot of liquid, including light diuretic teas and drinks: lingonberries, cranberries, currants, mint teas and other herbs with these properties. Avoid strong teas - black and green, as well as coffee, chocolate and cocoa. Drinking plenty of fluids mainly includes water, fruit drinks and teas made from light diuretic herbs.
When a person switches to such a diet, at first he may experience leg cramps, since salts, including potassium salts, are washed out of the joints. Therefore, foods rich in potassium, including baked potatoes with skin, are recommended at this time. Be sure to use butter, sour cream and cream. For fruits, it is good to eat apricots in any form, including dried apricots and apricots, for vegetables - carrots... As a last resort, you can buy tablets with potassium and magnesium at the pharmacy.
Usually, thanks to such a diet, acute symptoms of polyarthritis disappear within a couple of months. But if the process has gone far enough, then it is necessary to treat the joints. Joints can also be treated with your hands. To do this, as I already said, take a strong cotton sock, pour small dry beans into it, tie the sock and tap the sore joints with it. Tapping the joints with such a bag of beans triggers their regeneration due to seemingly minor damage. For example, with any cut or abrasion, regeneration turns on and the wound begins to heal. When a leg is broken, an inflammatory process occurs and the bone is restored. For this process it is necessary that the blood washes the sore, injured area. However, blood does not wash the joints, since it is not in the joint cartilage or in the joint capsule. This is why injured joints heal very poorly. By beating a joint, we slightly injure the joint capsule, and it begins to release substances that promote healing both itself and the entire joint as a whole.
Question: The micromovement technique is based on multiple repetitions over many hours, but how can you manage to do them on different groups of joints in the case of polyosteoarthrosis?
Vitaly Demyanovich: Just do these exercises constantly and everywhere: at work, in transport, in the theater, in the dining room!.. And also, if you have polyosteoarthrosis, be sure to follow a diet, which in itself greatly alleviates the situation.
Question: Three years ago I suffered from a sore throat. After that, my knees started to hurt, a year later my elbows started to hurt, and then my fingers. Please tell me, maybe I have a virus in my body, so, in addition to exercises, I need to undergo a course of treatment for the virus?
Vitaly Demyanovich: Joint disease after a sore throat may mean that you do not have osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, but rheumatoid arthritis. This disease “licks the joints and bites the heart.” It can develop against the background of any infection, especially staphylococcal (sore throat, sinusitis, tonsillitis, etc.). Manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis are usually accompanied by rheumatic carditis (heart damage). Other parts of the body may also be affected. Therefore, in your case, Alexey, you definitely need to check your heart to rule out any abnormalities in it. And only then you can actively treat the joints, as with rheumatoid arthritis.
Question: What kind of nutrition should you have for polyarthrosis? What should definitely be excluded and what should be added?
Vitaly Demyanovich: The diet must be low in protein. That is, a minimum of meat, fish, eggs, as well as cottage cheese, nuts and beans. Remove tomatoes, eggplants, coffee and cocoa. It is advisable to increase the consumption of fats and carbohydrates, namely bread, cereals and vegetables. Eat raisins, apricots, carrots and baked potatoes with skin, which replenish potassium. You need to drink plenty of fluids, but not black tea or coffee, but drinks made from lingonberries, cranberries and currants.
Patient reviews
The effectiveness of gymnastics is confirmed by positive reviews of the Gitt method for coxarthrosis. Patients with stage 2-3 pathology after 12-14 months of scrupulous training note a significant improvement in their condition. Pain goes away at night, range of motion increases. The only drawback of the method noted when using it is the long duration of classes. Every day you need to allocate 3-6 hours for micromovements.
Patients believe that over time, gymnastics becomes a habit; movements are performed automatically, even during sedentary work.
